Every October, I do the same dance. Research haunts around Orange County, keep notes in my head or maybe bookmark a few. Eventually create some spreadsheet to figure out what's open on what days.
Then start the inevitable group text coordination nightmare with friends about what we're doing and when.
This year, I decided it might be more fun to just build something to handle all this instead.
I set myself a budget of exactly $0 and built it for the kinds of haunts I actually go to - the affordable home haunts and community events that make Halloween awesome without breaking the bank. No Knott's or Universal here.
I've personally researched and added 15 haunts that work for my area. Built tools so groups can vote on plans instead of arguing in texts. Made "night of" pages so everyone knows where they're going next.
This isn't a comprehensive directory - it's a curated list of haunts I've vetted, plus tools to coordinate with your crew. If this sounds useful, I have limited capacity to let other groups set up their own haunt adventures. No promises it's perfect, but it solved my problem and maybe it'll solve yours.
